About the Teacher

Owner: Tara Dudley, Bachelor of Science in Education

A.K.A: “Miss Tara”

I hold my bachelors degree in education with four years teaching experience in the public school system.  I have also worked as a Lead Teacher in a local child care center.  My husband, Bret and I have two children, ages two and one. My decision to own my own child care home business comes from my desire to be with them and be their primary teacher.  Because I still have a passion for teaching and working with other children and I know the importance and benefits of my children being around and learning with other children; owning my own child care home is the best of both worlds.

I am not a babysitter.  I am a loving teacher and mother who will help your child reach his/her fullest potential while at Tara’s Shining Stars Preschool.  Together we will explore, discover, and create.  We will complete art and craft projects where we will focus on the process, not the product.  Each project we do will be planned to assist in the development and refinement of skills.  My goal is to create a loving and nurturing environment where your family can leave your child and know he/she is well cared for, safe, loved and educated in the comfort of a home environment.  Every child is treated like I would want my own children treated, cared for, and educated.

“Today like millions of other Americans I went to work. I didn't design a beautiful skyscraper or write a proposal to save an endangered species. I didn't fly a plane or write a crucial bill that would someday become a law. However, I did spend time with some very important people. I read a story to an attorney and I sang the alphabet song with a Supreme Court Justice. I ate lunch with a pastor, and patted the back of an engineer until sleep set in. I taught a policeman how to tie shoes and introduced an astronaut to the color red. Tomorrow, who knows whom I'll meet, but one thing is for sure...They will be very important, because they are our precious children, and the hope of our very future.”
